Museum of World Treasures
I’ll be honest, I’m a history buff. I love a good museum day learning about the rich history the world has to offer. My boyfriend and I had our two year anniversary at the Museum of World Treasures and it did not disappoint! There are beautiful exhibits from different areas of the world including ancient Egypt (with a mummy), the Vikings, ancient Greece, dinosaur exhibits, and more! Plan to spend several hours here reading the details of all these pieces of history, playing the games, and awing over the extensive gem collection! Admission is $9.95 per adult and children four to twelve $7.95! They do have family passes, for more information go HERE!

Botanica Wichita
One of my fondest childhood memories took place at Botanica's beautiful gardens. This is a great activity for all ages! Botanica has beautiful gardens, various events, and over twenty five themed gardens! If you are outdoorsy, or simply love botany this is a stop for you. If you are lucky enough to come through on a day they have their monarch butterfly educational class I highly recommend attending and learning something new. My boyfriends brother proposed to his girlfriend, and if that doesn't tell you of the beauty then maybe the fact that there are A LOT of weddings planned here a year might? I'll leave it up to you to discover. Admission is $10 per person for adults and youths, but to learn even more click HERE!

Keeper of the Plains
The keeper of the plains is a large mental statue along the river walk in downtown Wichita. Now I know, what seems interesting about a river walk? Everyone's answer might be different, but to me its the history. To our native Americans the land between the Little and Big Arkansas river flows together is scared. The statue was actually carved by a Wichitan native artist names Blackbear Bosin. The river walk is a powerful experience and a great way to learn some history on the people who first called this area home. Make sure to stick around for the ring of fire at dusk, to learn more click HERE!

Mid-American All-Indian Center
I can't mention the keeper without mentioning the Mid-American All-Indian center located right next to it! If you come to Wichita this is a must visit! Like I said, I'm a history person, so when my family takes a vacation we always learn about the area. The center offers many classes, educational exabits, and the largest collection of Blackbear Bosin's work! Admission is priced from $3 to $7 per person, to learn more click HERE!

Sedgwick County Zoo
If you live in Wichita or the surrounding areas you’ve more than likely been to the zoo, and for anyone traveling here I suggest adding our zoo to your to-see list! Not only is the scenery beautiful, but you’ll find yourself busy for three to four hours just walking through the different themed areas (based of continents). During the day there are several different Animal Extras or Keeper Encounters like the River Otter Feeding, and more. The Sedgwick country zoo has close to 400 different animal species, so there is something everyone will enjoy seeing. Admission is anywhere from $15-$20 per person but there are some other specials for more information click HERE!

The Ally
The ally is well known to the people of Wichita! This is a one stop shop for all ages fun. There is bowling, an arcade, and indoor go cart track (its incredibly fun to race the family), a sports bar and a few other fun activities. There is a ton of different pricing options for different things so I’ll let you look HERE!

"The Room"
If you like puzzles this escape room is for you! The Room offers three different themed rooms that you don't have to share while you try to escape. Essentially your party have an hour to solve riddles and look for clues to escape the room. I have never personally been to the Room but I have been recommended it by a friend and they say it is well worth your while! Admission is priced $15-$25 per person, for more information click HERE!

Old Cow Town Museum
The Old Cow Town museum is a great way to learn more about Wichita history! Wichita has a rich history with the native people of the area, aviation, the wild west, and the cattle driving. The Cow Town museum is intriguing for many reason, one being that there is full historical buildings and their period interiors! Essentially with a visit you're going to be transported by to the 1860's and 70's, there is a General Store, a carpenters shop, a meat market and a ton more to explore! Admission is $7 to $9 dollars, to learn more click HERE!

There are some of the BEST places in Wichita KS to explore while you're here! Wichita is a city full of history, diver groups, and a collage scene. I lived there for several years, and while the city like many has it's issues, I still love the area. Whatever your journey, I hope you enjoy your stay in the Air Capitol of the World! Where are you going to explore?
